Week 3: I miss cream puffs and I got a haircut

Campinas Temple (I need to buy this print)

Monday-Today I am grateful for my supportive parents.
Tuesday-Today I am grateful for temples and being able to feel at home, even when I'm so far away.
Wednesday-today I am grateful for loving teachers and the comfort of the spirit.
Thursday-today I am grateful for the joy of sharing the gospel.
Friday-today I am grateful for the LIGHT THE WORLD video and the spirit that accompanies it.
Saturday-today I am grateful for recognizing progress in my portuguese.
Sunday-today I am grateful for the sacrament and church classes.
Monday-today I am grateful for friends that are strong in the church!
Tuesday-TODAY I am grateful for silly mistakes and being humbled.

Last Tuesday we went to the Campinas temple, which is in my mission! It is super pretty and sits on a hill that over looks the city of Campinas and it is a HUGE city AHH!
We started TRC's this week which is where we teach an "investigator" from the beginning (meeting them-Baptism) and it is so awesome! It was easier than I thought and I'm good at preparing what to say ahead of time haha. I'm not very good at speaking just on the fly but that will come eventually.
I got to watch the Light The World video and holy cow it was amazing!! I felt the Spirit so strongly and felt so much peace, I invite you all to take the time to watch the 17 minute long video uninterrupted if you haven't already.
We had a sub for one of our morning classes this week and we were practicing pronunciation and apparently he liked my voice because he said that it was beautiful. I've never had anyone say that to me, haha.
During another TRC this week I felt so happy! I recognized how much progress I had made in one day! The gift of tongues is real if you work for it and PRAY!
You always hear that like, "oh your family is going to be so blessed because you are serving a mission", and usually you think about like your family at home. But, I learned today that not only will my current family at home be blessed, but my future family will be too! The mission is the best place to make life changing changes.
President Nelson is the best, I love the prophet.
Sundays are the best days.
Everyone in my district is saving up all their snacks that they get everyday so that we can have a Thanksgiving, it's going to be so great.
SO I had to get a haircut because my hair came to the edge of the top of my eyebrows apparently. So I go to get a haircut and the old guy doesn't speak English and I only speak a little Gospel Portuguese, not even like regular Portuguese. So anyways, there was some definite miscommunication and he shaved my sides at a 2 and the top at 3, so basically I am bald and I look like an elf. But its fine because now I can be humble and my hair will grow back eventually. Haha You guys should've seen my face when he started just shaving off all my hair on top.

Week 2: Jenga in the dark

Cleaning the floor

The power went out like 8 times and one time it was out for like 2 hours, It was pretty wack but like fine because everything still went on. I went to the SAO PAULO  temple and had such a great time!! The spirit has been with me everyday and it's amazing. Portuguese is sooo hard but when I use all my time to focus on the Lord, then He will provide! I taught a lesson in Portuguese and before it I didn't have everything that I needed to say. Anyways the scripture where it talks about focusing on the Lord and He will provide the words that I will say. Somehow I said half of my testimony in unprepared Portuguese that the words I had only seen like once, It was amazing! I taught the lesson in priesthood and once again felt the spirit guide the whole time. I have such great devos every week, and that is amazing. In one of them I wrote down this quote it said, "The MTC is a sign of adaptation". That's what I get to do here wahoo, adapt to missionary life.

Food truck hamburgers for P-day!

I started writing down something that I am grateful for everyday, it is so great, I challenge all of you to write something that you are grateful for everyday and be more grateful!!

Be grateful not hateful!
I feel blessed everyday!

It's the thought that counts.

I love you all and miss you all.

Love,
Elder Morrison

Week 1: It's harder in some ways and easier in others

All the missionaries who entered on the 6th.

Hello everyone,

This is Logan's mom, and in the middle of him transferring his email from his word processor the local instructor came and pulled the plug. So I am filling in on where he is at right now. The first day was really good and then Satan went to town and he felt horrible and then he talked to the MTC President and on Monday he started feeling much better.

He works really fast and efficient and those around him are not quite so fast. The learning curve with the culture is always rough! His companion's name is Elder Weller from Layton. He likes the food, and he likes his teachers. He loves his time that he has to focus on his relationship with Jesus Christ.

He feels really good about the language. He feels like he is where he is supposed to be. It's the inconsistencies with the rules and the discipline involved that he is struggling with.

Pray for my boy,

Love,
Mom
