Week 48: Through the worst of it

Monday- I am grateful for very good days, hiking, haircuts, and revelation.

Tuesday- I am grateful for tractors, moving, purpose, thinking, truth, and testimony.

Wednesday- I am grateful for Righteousness, repentance, ideas, and plans.

Thursday- I am grateful for blessings, humility, and peace.

Friday- I am grateful for running, the great outdoors, the Rav4, the weather, and The Spirit of others.

Saturday- I am grateful for happiness, technology, filling of the Holy Ghost, sandwiches, helping others in desperate need, education, knowledge, my state of being.

Sunday- I am grateful for breaks, The Atonement, thoughts, writing, and my ukulele.

Got to give my very first haircut on Monday and it went very well. It was pretty sweet actually, loved it.

Excellent week, we got to help out Kevin some more, fall more trees, and help others move. The woods up here are so dense and beautiful, it's just missing mountains. Oh and it's not the same at all 😂

Our Facebook page has been doing well, everyone is making quality posts and that makes us happy!

I got absolutely wrecked by a migraine on Thursday. I was completely dysfunctional. I was in and out of naps, throwing up and just feeling pain. But I also learned quite a bit and was humbled. My piercings were able to help and gave me a good relief from the pain.

We had the 2nd half of mission conference and it was excellent! The Savior said to " Come and Follow me". This means leaving behind all your personal desires for a bit. It requires you to align your will with His completely. Its consecration. Christ is the perfect example of consecration. He did the Fathers' Will, always, no matter the consequences from man. All our actions should be something that benefits The Father.

Let's see... to get out of the house we drove down to The Mississippi and skipped rocks. The weather has been so perfect this week! It's a huge blessing. I wish I was out in it more often.

A lot of just random things happened on Sunday and here are some of them. A dude with the strangest haircut/ mustache fanning himself in his car- looked like Willy Wonka, a baby completely smacking himself in Sacrament meeting, the same random girl on Facebook requesting to friend me and Elder Brown and then randomly disappearing, a train nearly destroying our car, meatloaf, me throwing a feather out the window, my comp destroying a boogie board, dinner at 2!?!?.

Yeah that's some of the highlights for sure, Sunday was sorta weird but also always good. I had a lot of thoughts about The Atonement and wrote up a post about it on Facebook.

I love being in a trio, it truly is the best.

I'm doing very very well and I'm so very happy serving the Lord out here in Missouri, there's only blessings ahead ❤

Love,
Elder Morrison

Welp my comp came back negative from his Covid test so we were free!!!

This week FLEW by it's actually been insane. Probably the fastest week of my mission!

We helped out our investigator named Kevin take out a tree in his yard, it was pretty epic and some real good service, I loved it. They were huge trees, it was pretty sick and eventful.

Elder Brown, Elder Cannon, Me

We ARE SO BLESSED. Do you ever realize how blessed we are to know of The true church and Gospel of Christ?? There's a very few number of people in the world who have the knowledge that we have!! Share it!!

We got to give such a good message after dinner to a whole bunch of people who didn't know much about the church! We shared some scriptures on peace and I added something's about prayer as well.
It was so cool and I felt guided by the Spirit. It was sort of like that feeling you get when you're in a testimony meeting when your younger. It was such a cool feeling and anytime one of us missionaries shared something the Spirit came right back. Super powerful.

Brown, Cannon, Me

We got to have a Bible study with Sis Lindsey who is the sweetest old lady in our ward. It was a good time and I highly recommend you check it out 😁

I had quite the number of weird dreams that I remembered this week and I'm interested to see if they are telling me the future or not but I guess I'll just have to wait and find out.

I love my mission!

I am very, very blessed.

Farmer Logy!

Boy oh boy y'all ready to hear about the greatness of God??!!

Saturday was a great day. We did some service taking out some trees and halfway through the day some Sisters in our zone asked if anyone spoke Portuguese and I, being the only one who did, spoke up. They got in contact with us and told us how they had a member who ONLY spoke Portuguese and she was in need of a Priesthood blessing. Her husband was in the hospital and he speaks Portuguese and English but he's really the only one near with the Priesthood AND Portuguese. She was in dire need of a blessing of comfort and guidance. I was pretty nervous throughout the rest of Saturday but in every prayer I said I asked for guidance and help with my Portuguese. I started listening to conference talks in Portuguese so that I could actually remember how to understand it. I asked my language group on Facebook messenger for any tips as well and an Elder told me to write down what I might say. On Sunday I fasted and prayed. In the morning I prayed some more and gained revelation on what I needed to say during the blessing and wrote a lot of it out. We headed over to the lady's apartment with the sisters and I'm the only one who can communicate with her. She recently moved her around a year ago and hasn't learned much English, as well as being a newlywed. They had just moved into the apartment as well! Still had no furniture! From the second she opened the door we were in conversation. It was insane. I spoke fluently, regularly and understood her completely!! As if I had never left Brazil at all!! We got talking and she asked where I served and I said in the Campinas Brazil mission and she was like wow no way! I'm from Paulinia!

Well folks guess what, Paulinia was the area next to mine and was in my DISTRICT!!  I went there every single week!! How crazy!! We talked some more and she knew quite a few members from my ward, and was close friends with them! It was crazy! She is super good friends with a member named Leda and we as missionaries went over to her house every Sunday to have FHE, almost my second family!! Absolutely the plan God had in mind and I'm beyond grateful. I gave her a blessing and it went very well and The Spirit was as strong and guiding as it could be. She even shed a tear or 2 and I could feel her gratitude!

It felt amazinggg to speak Portuguese again and knew it was all because of the prayers, fasting, preparation, and guidance from the Holy Ghost.

I was honestly at a loss for words for the rest of the day.

God is aware of you and has a plan for you, He is preparing blessings that you couldn't even imagine.

God is good.

Great Mississippi

We were asked to give a training in Zone council on Wednesday about GOALS and it went pretty well. It took quite a few hours to actually pick an idea and work through and finalize, it was not the funnest. Our training went pretty well and I'm glad it's over with. I love goals

We helped out our good buddy Kevin by building a fence for his horses on his little farm, it was great! I love working outdoors and with my hands. We also got a chance to teach him and his friend named Carol about The Gospel of Jesus Christ. It was a quick but excellent message! I love my job.

Peaches and cream

Welp some unfortunate things happened and an elder from our district that we've been in

close contact with tested positive for Covid on Thursday so we went into a HARD quarantine.

It's pretty unfortunate but what can ya do. I grew an even greater love for exercising. I also

tried some yoga.

Farmer Logan

We got to go out for walks and so we went to the Mississippi and did a little exploring, it was so fun

and the Mississippi is HUGE.

Love the overalls

I've been very blessed with excellent studies the past while and I've loved reading from Acts

and about how the apostles went about missionary work. It's cool to see how this really is

Christs' church. Even the same one that was set up when Christ was on the Earth.

Before Hair cut

We all started talking about our last missions and started pulling it up on Google maps and

showing pictures and all the good stuff. It really threw me back. It was interesting. I am very

grateful for my experiences in Brazil.

We had the sacrament in our house on Sunday and the Spirit was very sweet and powerful. I'm so grateful for the Priesthood.

After Hair cut

The Face 2 Face last night with Elder Rasband was excellent!! I loved how they answered

questions and guided others. I also love the #HearHim hashtag because it has continually

gotten more and more members and people to focus on their own personal revelation which

is what we need to survive the last days, aka TODAY, spiritually. I love the leadership of the church.

Week 45: 12 Million Cats

Monday- I am grateful for music, Family, and my testimony.

Tuesday- I am grateful for Benadryl, September, my trio, memories, THE TEMPLE, and productivity.

Wednesday- I am grateful for laughs, creativity, realizations, and the knowledge that God is good :)

Thursday- I am grateful for showers, horses, sweating, roofs, music, clean cars, and Jurassic Park.

Friday- I am grateful for repentance, studying, faith, raccoons, and experiences.

Saturday- I am grateful for weed wackers, Saints 2, contentment, ideas, personal happiness, The Sun, pants, grass, The St. Louis arch, cake, Kool-Aid, and America.

Sunday- I am grateful for fasting, KFC, naps, drugs, and driving!

We did service at the temple!! Holy cow it was amazing. The spirit there is so strong and I just found myself humming hymns and feeling the greatest peace and calmness. We trimmed flowers the whole time and it rained on us. It was awesome!  I love working outside.

Our Facebook Admin responsibilities this week went very well and our meeting on Tuesday was much more organized than the chaos of last week, so that made me feel good.

Everyone here has cats. I hate them. I've taken half a Benadryl multiple times which is fine but after like an hour. I don't want to hear anyone speak and can literally fall asleep anywhere. It's rough but I'm getting by.

We taught this girl who lives in Canada and it was kinda sad. She asked us, what would happen if someone sincerely read and prayed and wanted the Book of Mormon to be true and prayed about it fervently and still got the answer that the book was false. The question caught me by surprise and I explained how if someone sincerely studied the Book of Mormon continually and prayed about it then they would gain a testimony of their own that it is true. It is impossible for God to say that book is false. She told us about how she had that experience and knew the book was false and that all she needed was the Bible. It broke my heart.

We taught a cool dude named Kevin. He's old and has a small farm sorta. He has 4 horses, 3 chickens, 2 cats and some more animals around I'm sure that I haven't found yet. He's rough to teach because he gets off topic so easily. But he's always interesting to talk too and super fun to do service for!

We taught an ex member of the 70! (or so he says) He is awesome and had some super cool stories and experiences but we gave him a lesson that we prepared quite a bit for and it put together a lot of thoughts that I've had. We taught about the Holy Ghost and personal revelation and how it really is impossible for us to survive spiritually without knowing how to "Hear Him". The prophet isn't going to give you a specific answer 100% of the time. You need to seek out that revelation for yourself. Its comforting to have a lot of realizations and ideas come together. God is good.

St, Louis Arch!!

The reason why I am grateful for Jurassic park is because of a road in our area. It gives a HUGE Jurassic Park feel to it, especially when it is cloudy and rainy and everything is wet and the lamps are on. It is INSANE and also super cool. Anytime we drive down that road we just sing the theme song, it's the best.

I finished Saints 2!! Super cool read and it always makes me curious to find out what inventions came out when throughout this book. I also wanted to have like a culture check to recognize what the culture of the church was and what the culture of the world was at certain times in the book. Just as a reference. Those are some of my thoughts. Amazing book that explains clearly and simply how the church has moved forward and continued to be restored
😁.

Fast Sunday was excellent and we got to teach someone in person! it was excellent and a little weird teaching in a trio. But, really it felt good to teach The Restoration again. That lesson has so much power.

There are raccoons in our dumpster.

I've had so much Benadryl this week.

Elder Morrison
