Ice Cream

A week full of good honest work.

We were at the start of a long walk when we got yelled at from the other side of the street, to come on over. So, on over we went and lo and behold - a miracle. A member who wants to get active again and her friend who wants to learn more about the church!! Then they gave us a ride to our lesson that was an hour away. Blessings and miracles my friends.

Pizza Anyone?!

'm not sure what it is but no matter how hard I try to look alive, happy, and attentive while playing the guitar on video, it just simply can't be done.

Elder Holland gave a wonderful talk from BYU that sparked a bunch of dumbness I kept seeing on Facebook so that was not cool. But, just a small portion of the week.

We sadly did not have computer keys this week so we went back to the old ways...

We found some pretty cool people to share the Gospel with this week and the best part is they like being taught in person! So that meant lots of walking, a personal favorite of mine.

We actually found MANY cool people who were ready to receive a message and we doubled our goal of new people for the week! Last week of the transfer and the best one.

We got pizza to celebrate some success

It rained.

I had many many significant studies this week that brought new light and knowledge to my mind. I am extremely grateful for the teaching power of The Holy Ghost.

The Book of Mormon is THE BEST.

The way they do hot dogs out here is NOT the same as the US. In the states it's usually only a couple ingredients but nope, hot dogs here come with mayo, mashed potatoes, ketchup, hotdog sauce?, and this stuff called Batata palha. Imagine a MINI French fry that's crunchy like a crouton. Yeah, that's the best way to describe it.

We went to the church where the baptism was supposed to be at and when the Uber told us to get out I was like huh because there was no church in site. Turns out the church was basically a store front and it had the weirdest layout I've ever seen but hey it gets the job done so can't complain there.

I baptized Marcos and it was so cool! Literally, the water was freezing! But The Spirit was there and everyone was so happy.

I am so grateful to have the power to bless the lives of other people πŸ˜

I also had a very profound Spiritual realization Sunday morning while singing the opening hymn. God is good.

I am getting blessed with one last area!

Whether or not you or I like it or am prepared for it. I'm starting my last transfer. Let's go.

Love y'all

So much goodness in this picture.

Week 94: Guess what's back

Monday- I am grateful for personal commitment, answered prayers, The Gospel Light, and solemnity.
Tuesday- I am grateful for our spiritual influence, the 1st vision, & annoying but funny phone calls.
Wednesday- I am grateful for quiet moments, computers, and HEAT!
Thursday- I am grateful for step goals, studies with Pres., Temple hope, and new days.
Friday- I am grateful for Marcos, the heat, and good handwriting.
Saturday- I am grateful for love, a clean & clear mind, and my body.
Sunday- I am grateful for my ukulele, reading music, & The Old Testament Gideon.

That's right ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, grandmothers and grandfathers: the heat is back.

I think I owe a lot of credit to being born in Arizona because I have absolutely NO PROBLEM with stepping outside into the sun and sweating immediately, I have no problem with it, when just about everyone else does...there must be something that got slapped into my genes because of my being born in Arizona. I just love the sun.

Anyways a hot and good week.

Me and Elder Rosario working hard.

We met a new friend and she has LOTS of questions which is pretty rad. She even is already talking about how she needs to change to become apart of our church! So that's promising!

Good music is a necessity.

I started teaching myself how to read regular notes for the guitar, cool stuff.

Elders

I got to interview the sweetest 9 year old in my life! AND he asked me to baptize him! So next Sunday we are taking a lil adventure to baptize my favorite 9yr old Marcos!

We also made a pretty good video this week.

We did some more bamboo planters service this week, it was good and hot and just us and 2 members. But still a good time.

Have you ever just felt the whole world weighing down on you? Or sad but you just don't know why. WELL, here is how to solve it- read the BOOK OF MORMON! It continues to be my greatest calmer and true friend because of the Holy Ghost it brings into my day.

Y'all remember the pretty bad interview and shindig that went down last week??

Well, he ended up getting baptized yesterday! I'm quite happy for him and how he was able to move past the misunderstanding. Answered prayers and fasting right there.

My District is full of Sister Missionaries

The Spirit has spoken to me this week when I have deliberately chosen to sit back, take a deep breathe, and allow myself to just be still.

Take some time to be still today.

Love,
Elder Morrison

Week 93: Read the BOOK OF MORMON

Monday- I am grateful for basketball, plants, and health.
Tuesday- I am grateful for miracles, agency, and Pizza Hut.
Wednesday- I am grateful for hands, and musical joy.
Thursday- I am grateful for conviction, pastels, and personal development.
Friday- I am grateful for breathing, carrot cake, and my guitar.
Saturday- I am grateful for promises, yard work, and in-tune spiritual prayers.
Sunday- I am grateful for answers, The Plan of Salvation, and spiritual reflections.

I hope that whoever reads this gets a BIG reminder to read the Book of Mormon, it's the key to happiness ya know.

I was humbled a number of times this week. Being humbled is always good.

I got to give a baptismal interview and it went well. The Spirit was definitely there. Anyways he needed another interview. So we tried to set up the interview and I had President on one end asking me questions and then I would talk to the friend and it was nuts. It was a chaotic 10 minutes that resulted in my imperfect understanding and speaking offending the friend who wanted to get baptized. It was bad people, very bad.

Helped out with the bamboo planters again. Once again a good time.

Found some really cool new people. And they like being taught in person which is a GAME-CHANGER.

Had a mission tour with Elder Koch. Good time, the Spirit was truly there.

I'm still not a meeting person.

Got humbled in Portuguese.

I made a carrot cake.

Was at a complete loss of what to do at times. There are just times where you are just so blanked at what to do that you forget everything that you did before to use your time wisely.

Witnessed a very humble and heartfelt prayer... in English.

Blessed with Pizza Hut from some members.

Did a music Devo with the sisters. Honestly like the funnest part of the week! I love the power of music!

Opened Elder Rosarios eyes to some more Brazilian food. This week I introduced him to pastels! Good stuff right there, it's not like any American so I really am not sure how to describe it.

Studied a bunch. I love the scriptures.

Read The Book of Mormon a bunch. READ IT

Played the guitar a bunch. Continues to be a nightly endeavor that brings me peace, happiness, and tough fingertips.

Another one down.

Week 92: The Lord Will Provide

Monday- I am grateful for My Savior and my Mom.
Tuesday- I am grateful for inspiration and The Holy Ghost.
Wednesday- I am grateful for climaxes, Vitor, and happiness.
Thursday- I am grateful for inspiration and Book of Mormon joy.
Friday- I am grateful for my body, volleyball, athleticism, and guitar service.
Saturday- I am grateful for energy, work ethic, and being outside!
Sunday- I am grateful for laughs, energy, and conversion

Whatta week!

Right when things are just starting to look down and you aren't very excited or feeling successful, God provides.

We taught our friend Vitor nearly every day this week! One day we got Taco Bell with him, another we started teaching him how to play the guitar, and another we had a family night with him! We also called him just to read the Book of Mormon which is simply the best!

The weather went back to its usual temperature which has been very nice πŸ˜

I LOVE being outside.

The basketball/volleyball/soccer court got freed this week so we got invited to real activities!!

We played volleyball and soccer this week and it was a blast! I failed to bring sorta normal shoes to Brasil. I only have my church shoes, Chacos, and running shoes. So you can guess what I play sports in.. OK maybe not but Yeah it's the Chacos and everyone always asks me if I brought normal shoes to Brasil and I laugh and say no. Anyways they are always shocked when I can still play ball and Soccer in Chacos. It just pushes them to believe that I really am Brazilian hahaha!

Saturday was epic! We had an awesome service at one of our churches. In the back they are trying to give the garden a little more life. So we made some bamboo planters! It was so fun and good to just be outside working again. Miss it.

Lowkey got sick, but the work must go on!

Love y'all.

Week 91: The North Pole

The glorious pizza.

Monday- I am grateful for wisdom, ears, and being fully engaged in the Gospel.
Tuesday- I am grateful for tomorrow's, self-control, Domino's, and chair naps.
Wednesday- I am grateful for examples, the scriptures, 30 reias, 1 minute game, rain, The Holy Ghost, and studying.
Thursday- I am grateful for soup, random friends, and feeling guided/directed.
Friday- I am grateful for my friends, Pres and Sis Saucedo, cakes, birthdays, and blankets.
Saturday- I am grateful for baptism, The Spirits company, fasting, watering grass, and prioritizing time.
Sunday- I am grateful for cereal, mini scone things, walking, happiness, clean language/conduct, and simply a full good day!

How do I even describe this week?

We got Domino's on Tuesday and that was real good and real rare!

I only had 30 reais left and so when we went to the store I grabbed everything I needed and then checked out and the total came to 29.34. Miracle.

There were multiple chilly days in a row. That kinda just ruins the fun when literally the only thing you can think about is being warm again. We could see our breathe while just being in our apartment.

There is nothing quite as awful as a shower when it is 38 degrees in the bathroom. Everything relaxing and joyful about taking a shower is immediately taken away and you just want to get out of there as quick as possible.

President and Sister Saucedo stopped by JundiaΓ to give us some more blankets and we had a birthday party for Sister Johnson, a Sister in my district! It was excellent and I made a cake and President brought a cake too.

My cake I made.

I got asked to direct a baptismal service for a returning member, it was SWEET. The Spirit was very strong and it was a real good meeting.

I am grateful for being clean and worthy of the Holy Ghost, it truly has been my best guide. With that comes clean language and conduct. I'm grateful for cleanliness.

We had a great Sunday, it was so great! We had 2 friends come to church in person! Good time!

Love y'all, I'd love to hear from you!

Blessed blankets for the freezing weather!
