We did service at the temple!! Holy cow it was amazing. The spirit there is so strong and I just found myself humming hymns and feeling the greatest peace and calmness. We trimmed flowers the whole time and it rained on us. It was awesome! I love working outside.
Our Facebook Admin responsibilities this week went very well and our meeting on Tuesday was much more organized than the chaos of last week, so that made me feel good.
Everyone here has cats. I hate them. I've taken half a Benadryl multiple times which is fine but after like an hour. I don't want to hear anyone speak and can literally fall asleep anywhere. It's rough but I'm getting by.
We taught this girl who lives in Canada and it was kinda sad. She asked us, what would happen if someone sincerely read and prayed and wanted the Book of Mormon to be true and prayed about it fervently and still got the answer that the book was false. The question caught me by surprise and I explained how if someone sincerely studied the Book of Mormon continually and prayed about it then they would gain a testimony of their own that it is true. It is impossible for God to say that book is false. She told us about how she had that experience and knew the book was false and that all she needed was the Bible. It broke my heart.
We taught a cool dude named Kevin. He's old and has a small farm sorta. He has 4 horses, 3 chickens, 2 cats and some more animals around I'm sure that I haven't found yet. He's rough to teach because he gets off topic so easily. But he's always interesting to talk too and super fun to do service for!
We taught an ex member of the 70! (or so he says) He is awesome and had some super cool stories and experiences but we gave him a lesson that we prepared quite a bit for and it put together a lot of thoughts that I've had. We taught about the Holy Ghost and personal revelation and how it really is impossible for us to survive spiritually without knowing how to "Hear Him". The prophet isn't going to give you a specific answer 100% of the time. You need to seek out that revelation for yourself. Its comforting to have a lot of realizations and ideas come together. God is good.
St, Louis Arch!!
The reason why I am grateful for Jurassic park is because of a road in our area. It gives a HUGE Jurassic Park feel to it, especially when it is cloudy and rainy and everything is wet and the lamps are on. It is INSANE and also super cool. Anytime we drive down that road we just sing the theme song, it's the best.
I finished Saints 2!! Super cool read and it always makes me curious to find out what inventions came out when throughout this book. I also wanted to have like a culture check to recognize what the culture of the church was and what the culture of the world was at certain times in the book. Just as a reference. Those are some of my thoughts. Amazing book that explains clearly and simply how the church has moved forward and continued to be restored
Fast Sunday was excellent and we got to teach someone in person! it was excellent and a little weird teaching in a trio. But, really it felt good to teach The Restoration again. That lesson has so much power.
There are raccoons in our dumpster.
I've had so much Benadryl this week.
Love,
Elder Morrison
